The primary purpose of the Latchkey Program is to provide high quality after school care for children. Within this framework, the program seeks to provide an educational, recreational, and social environment conducive to learning and development with a minimum of formal structure. To fit the developmental requirements, cultural background and characteristics of each child, Latchkey makes provisions and plans for a caring, compassionate, and challenging environment, positive group experiences, curriculum and behavioral expectations, freedom for individual choice, and a program that helps meet the health, safety and nutritional needs of each child. Prowler Preschool aligns its curriculum with Minnesota Early Learning Standards and our district’s kindergarten standards. Teachers develop hands-on learning activities that promote creativity and confidence. Our programs provide children with experiences that build relationships, enhance problem solving and communication skills, and sets the foundation for successful, lifelong learning in the following areas: Social Emotional Positive Approaches to Learning Physical and Movement Development Math Arts Science You will be required to provide an electronic payment method to request a contract, if you are unable, please contact the preschool office at 218-681-8670.

Children can spend part of their day in their Prowler Preschool classroom, and other part in Before and After School Care. Students must be enrolled in our 4 Year-Old program to attend. Childcare is offered for your child on scheduled class days 6:30 a.m.-8 a.m. and 2:45-6:00 p.m. On Non-School days, childcare will be offered between 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. This program will run September 3, 2024-May 22, 2025. Cost of childcare is $25/week for before school care and $55/week for after school care. BIlling is on a bi-monthly rate. A non-refundable registration fee of $30.00 will apply. Minimum enrollment must be met in order for the program to run. Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) accepted. There will be no refunds or credits for absent days. A $5.00 late fee will be applied for every 15 minutes after 6:00 p.m. Parents will be responsible for sending lunch on Non-School days.
